ABV: 40%
Casks: Sherry oak and "traditional" oak
Age statement: 10 years old
Color: Honey
Nose: Sharp alcohol attacks immediately - a bit unexpected in a 40% ABV whisky; citrus, dried fruits, green apple, pepper and heather follows. 5/25
Taste: Too mild, slight oak, pears, red plums and spices - somewhat saved by the fruity flavours, but doesn't have the kick the nose promised. 11/25
Finish: Alcohol, some traces of raisins, oak, green apple and spices; lasts for a long time, and improves as time goes by. 13/25
Style: It's a bit of a roller coaster, first the harsh nose, then the too mild taste, before it finally improves. 5/25
Total: Bottom line is, buy the Aberlour 12 year old instead. 34/100
Traditional score: 67/100
